Background to the Project

The NUT made two successful bids to the Union learning Fund (ULF) for funding to develop a network of NUT learning representatives at divisonal level. The local membership can access the full range of learning opportunities available, both for thier professional and personal development.

The NUT is working in partnership with TUC Learning Services.

 

Statutory Rights for Union leaning Reps

The employment Act 2002 established statutory rights for union learning reps and these rights came into force in 2003 with the pulication of the ACAS Code of Practice on Time Off for Trade Union Duties and Activities.

NUT CPD Aims:

To provide 'no threat, no blame' learning opportunities.

To inform and enhance teachers' professional judgements.

To engage teachers in collaborative and sustained learning.

To meet teachers' own learning and career development needs and aspairations.
